Australia will be the final piece in the puzzle of the highly anticipated 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship, as Darwin has been selected as the host city for the final round of both the men’s and women’s motocross seasons.
As the 2025 season unfolds, fans and competitors can look forward to the inaugural MXGP of Australia, taking place from 19 to 21 September 2025, in the vibrant and picturesque city of Darwin.
The season will feature a total of 20 rounds, with the MXGP of Australia serving as the thrilling finale on the adrenaline packed MXGP calendar, which begins in Argentina at a brand-new venue in Cordoba.
The MXGP is set for a massive year in 2025 with two rounds in Spain and the highly anticipated return to the historic Saint Jean d'Angely in France for the MXGP of Europe, while Italy is scheduled for back-to-back races before heading to Switzerland.
In late May there will be another trio of races as the series sweeps through France at Ernee, Germany's renowned Teutschenthal, and Latvia's famed Kegums circuit in early June.
After a brief break, the series ventures beyond European borders to Indonesia for back-to-back events in Sumbawa and Lombok. Then a classic European stretch, featuring rounds in the Czech Republic at Loket, Belgium's challenging Lommel circuit, and the MXGP of Sweden in Uddevalla.
The final leg of the European season concludes in Netherlands, before the series embarks on its last international phase. In September, riders will head to Afyonkarahisar, Turkey, followed by thrilling races in Shanghai, China, and, for the first time ever, in Darwin for the MXGP of Australia, as the season races toward an exhilarating conclusion.
The 2025 FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship will consist of six rounds, starting with the season opener in Sardegna at the Riola Sardo circuit. The series will then journey across Europe, with events in Spain, Germany, and Arnhem in the Netherlands, culminating in a penultimate round in Turkey. The championship will conclude with a grand finale at the MXGP of Australia in Darwin, where the WMX, MXGP, and MX2 classes will unite to cap off an unforgettable season.
The European Motocross Championship, featuring the EMX250 and EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing classes, will consist of 11 rounds as support events for the MXGP Championship. Both series will begin with the second round of the season at the first European event in Cózar, Spain. The EMX125 category will wrap up in Uddevalla, while the EMX250 finale will take place in Turkey.
Additionally, the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship is scheduled for 6 July in Romagne, France, and the Motocross of European Nations will be held on 21 September at Castelnau de Levis, also in France.
The prestigious Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations will take place at Ironman Raceway in the USA from 3 to 5 October 2025.
