Calling all Top End schools!

For the first time in 24 years, the FIM Motocross World Championship returns to Australia. The world’s greatest riders, teams and bikes will descend on Darwin for one of motorsport’s biggest shows – the MXGP of Australia.

Hosted by the Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC), the event will take place on a purpose-built track at Hidden Valley Motorsports Complex and will be broadcast to over 100 countries.

On Friday, 19 September NTMEC is offering a FREE opportunity for students and teachers to experience the thrill, speed, and spectacle of world-class motocross. See elite riders soar over jumps, meet pro athletes, explore pit garages, and be inspired by the passion and skill behind this global event.

Friday kicks off the weekend of action with the State Challenge, which features the Territory’s own team – The Territory Dingos where Australia’s most promising junior riders compete on the world stage. Pro riders will also hit the track in MX3 and MX85 practice sessions before the day wraps up with three high-stakes races to crown the State Challenge Champion.

MXGP Students Day is a unique opportunity that can complement classroom learning or to enjoy as a full-day excursion to wrap up the term. Don’t let your students miss this historical event!

Food stalls will operate throughout the day, and students can also bring their own lunches. Students are encouraged to bring a hat and reusable water bottle to refill at stations around the venue.

See below to register and find out more about the Territory Dingos here.

Registrations are open until Monday, 1 September, acceptance of applications will be based on event capacity. Government and non-government schools are welcome to participate.
